- ANONYMOUS FTP
- It is possible to log into any machine by using the username
- "anonymous". In that case the following restrictions are
- added to the usual unix file access restrictions: - remote
- command execution is not allowed. - mkdir, rmdir and renam-
- ing of files is not allowed. - Files are accessible for
- reading if they are included in the file ".anonr" in their
- directory, or if their directory is accessible by the
- "anonymous" account. For example if /usr/foo/.anonr contains
- the file "public" then the file /usr/foo/public can be read
- from anonymous ftp. If /usr/foo/public is a directory then
- the whole tree under /usr/foo/public can be read from
- anonymous ftp. Files that have symbolic links to other
- machines using rfs can not be read by anonymous ftp. The
- ".anonr" files must only have one filename per line and the
- filenames cannot have any "/" in them.
